On May 9, 2017, Ouassim, 24 years old at the time of the events, was accompanied by his girlfriend Sabrina, 20 years old. The couple died in a motorcycle accident following a chase with police in the tunnels of Avenue Louise in Brussels.
At the start of the evening, two police officers patrolled the area around Place Flagey. They notice a motorcycle going too fast and decide to stop the driver, Ouassim, but he refuses to comply. On the contrary, it accelerates. Things get worse, at least three vehicles chase the motorcycle, at a hundred miles an hour in the tunnels. A few minutes later, Ouassim collided with a police van which was blocking the road. He dies instantly. Sabrina, on the back of the motorcycle, died of her injuries the same evening.
