A family has to deal with terrible news. Within 24 hours of learning that their 16-year-old son was suffering from leukemia, the young man died of the disease.
Kyle Limper was however in great shape. The young athlete from Philadelphia practiced several sports in high school and life smiled on him. Nothing foreshadowed such a sad end.
“Before April 13, he was a perfectly healthy and happy young man, with no signs of illness,” says his obituary that reports The New York Post.
Ken Limper, the teenager’s father, initially brought his son to the emergency room as he was suffering from back pain following playing basketball.
“I was told that if he was not better, to come back to the hospital. Within days he mightn’t even get up,” the grieving father told Fox 29. “He mightn’t even get out of bed and I had to help him up and then he fell back on her bed.”
Kyle was rushed to St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital where doctors diagnosed his organs were failing due to leukemia. Within 24 hours of being admitted to the hospital, the teenager died, once more according to The New York Post.
“It was like a nightmare,” recalls Ken Limper. Every time we came back to his (hospital) room it only got worse and worse,” says the grieving father.
“I wouldn’t wish that on anyone,” Jodi Taffe, the teenager’s mother, also told Fox 29.
Kyle dreamed of playing college football and studying law in order to work for the FBI or a crime scene investigation unit.
The family is raising money on GoFundMe in order to pay for the young man’s funeral expenses.
