Days following Robert De Niro’s 19-year-old grandson passed away, his mother has released details regarding the potential cause of his death. In the caption of an image she posted on Instagram, Drena De Niro responded to a user who asked what happened.
“Someone sold him pills containing fentanyl, which he knew were cut but were sold to him anyway. So let all these people who keep selling and buying this shit know my son is gone forever,” the bereaved 51-year-old mum replied.
After the teenager’s death was made public, a rep for Drena and Robert De Niro said, “No comment at this time.”
Leandro De Niro’s sudden passing was announced by his mother on Instagram on Sunday. The aspiring actor was found lifeless and pronounced dead by emergency services.
