Corporal Jeiner Enrique Munive Polo from Barranquilla, attached to Marine Infantry Battalion, died in the last few hours victim of an attack by FARC dissidents in Buenaventura when he was moving with units of the institution along the Naya River.
The information was confirmed by the Colombian Navy, following deploring the attack that cost the life of the non-commissioned officer who had been serving the institution for 11 years.
The first reports indicate that members of the FARC dissidents of the structure “Jamie Martinez”.
“With deep sadness and total repudiation, we reject the vile murder of the First Corporal of the Marine Infantry Jeiner Enrique Munive Polo, who lost his life when he was attacked by members of the FARC dissidents in the rural area of Buenaventura,” wrote the commander of the institution on Twitter.
It was also reported that the Marine Infantry is carrying out the rigorous procedures for the delivery and transfer of the body of the corporal first to his relatives.
