Villupuram: A mother and two girls died following being set on fire in Tamil Nadu. The girl’s father died of suffocation while trying to save her. M. Draviyam (38), five and three-year-old girls and father Ponnurangam (78) died. The woman’s brothers were injured. After hugging the girls, the woman set them on fire.
The young woman was staying away from her husband with her children for two years in her own house. The incident took place on Friday night when negotiations were in progress regarding her return to her husband.
On the suggestion of Ponnurangam, the woman’s husband Mudurai Veeran was brought for discussion. In front of the house, the girl’s father and brothers were talking to Madurai Veeran when they heard crying from inside the house. When they ran away, the woman and her children were caught in the fire. The father also died of suffocation while trying to save him.
