This Friday, a young man lost his life in Oupeye. The facts took place around 4:30 p.m. last Friday. The driver of a quad refused to submit to a police check and tried to flee. He then ran into a policeman and hit him, rue Perreau in Oupeye. One of his colleagues immediately reacted and shot the fugitive with his service weapon.
The policeman who was struck was injured and was taken to hospital. The one who killed the driver of the quad was also taken to the hospital, in a state of shock.
The young man who lost his life knew that if checked, he would return to prison. Indeed, according to our colleagues from La Meuse, in 2021, he led a punitive expedition once morest a man with whom he had a dispute over a money debt. With an accomplice, he chased him, put him in a trunk and beat him. Facts for which he was sentenced to 15 months in prison with a probationary reprieve. This reprieve ran until 2027.
In the quad, the police found cannabis for regarding 30 grams. Which would have led to another conviction.
Eleven convictions
According to our colleagues from Sudinfothe young man had also had no less than 11 convictions for “traffic” between 2010 and 2022 (lack of insurance, drunk driving, hit and run).
