A fire broke out in a multi-storey house in Huy on rue des Crépalles. Firefighters received a call at 11:52 p.m. They were overwhelmed with calls within seconds.
They arrived at 11:54 p.m. because the fire station is located right next to the house but the fire was already very developed at that time. The firefighters knew at that point that there would be no chance of survival. Neighbors were already trying to intervene in the house.
According to firefighters, there are 6 victims. It is a couple and their four children.
Firefighters and crews are still on site.
The fire is now 100% out. Firefighters are waiting for it to be clearer this morning to better assess the damage and look for the cause of the fire.
The fire caused a power outage to hundreds of homes in the neighborhood, but 3/4 of the homes in the neighborhood regained power.
