A horrific accident occurred in a gym in Brazil on the 4th. A 42-year-old man who was resting on a squat machine was hit on the head by a 150-kilogram equipment, causing his spine to be broken on the spot. He was sent to the hospital and sentenced to only 1% chance Walk once more.

According to the “Daily Star” report, Silva (Regilânio da Silva) used the squat machine training in the “220 FIT” gym that day, and the monitor photographed him resting on the chair of the equipment between groups. The whole set of barbells above his head fell and hit Silva hard on the head and neck.

Three men around Silva heard his cries for help and immediately rescued him and called an ambulance. However, following 4 hours of emergency surgery at the San Antonio Hospital, the “bone loss of continuity between Silva’s chest cavity and waist, no longer It’s one connected one by one” and severe nerve damage, declaring that his legs are paralyzed, leaving only a 1% chance of walking once more.

220FIT said that the equipment that had the accident was purchased less than 60 days ago, and it worked well before. They are still understanding why switching the lock bar between traditional squats and free squats caused an accident, and shared it with Silva’s family US$7,000 (approximately NT$220,000) for surgery. Silva’s relatives also initiated fundraising, hoping that the outside world can lend a helping hand to the family of four.
