On Thursday, the Egyptian authorities found the charred bodies of three missing Britons inside a tourist boat in Marsa Alam, in the southern Red Sea, five days following a fire broke out in the boat, following it was towed from the accident site to the shore.

The Public Prosecution decided to transfer the body parts inside three bags to the morgue of Hurghada General Hospital, and place them at the disposal of the Public Prosecution Office, and conduct a DNA analysis to determine their identity and data.

The three missing persons are a woman and two men who were inside their rooms at the moment the fire broke out in the Hurricane boat, which was carrying 15 English passengers and a crew of ten, in addition to two guides.

The authorities rescued 12 tourists, the boat crew and the two guides.

The initial examination showed that the cause of the accident was an electrical short circuit in the engine room, and the Public Prosecution Office moved to the examination and investigation.

The boat was passing off the El Finston Reef near Marsa Alam, in southeastern Egypt, when the fire broke out.

The resorts of the Red Sea in Egypt are popular with tourists because of their beaches and diving.
