Tragic Explosion Kills Three at Firecracker Factory in Bengaluru: Malayali Victims and Owner in Police Custody

Bengaluru: Three people, including two Malayalis, were killed in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Karnataka’s Belthangadi. Varghese (58) and Swamy (55), natives of Thrissur, are the dead Malayalees. The third deceased is Chetan (25), a native of Hassan. Six people including a Malayali were injured.

The accident happened in the firecracker factory of Malappuram native Basheer’s farm. Two people, including the owner of the farm, were taken into police custody.

The accident happened around 5 pm on Sunday. There were nine people here at this time. Local residents said that the impact of the explosion was felt at a distance of four kilometers. The fire brigade from Belthangadi carried out the rescue operation on the spot.
