BULLHEAD CITY – A 14-year-old girl drowned Tuesday night following being thrown from an inflatable tube along the Colorado River, it confirmed. police.

Bullhead City Police officers responded at approximately 7:30 pm to the Riverside Casino pier on the Nevada side of the Colorado River.

The girl, a California resident, had been pulled from the water and taken to the Western Arizona Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing the girl in an inflatable tube on a boat. The girl was thrown from the tube and the boat capsized. The girl was trapped under the tube and between the pilings of the Laughlin Bridge before she was pulled out of the water, according to police.

The victim was wearing a life jacket and the boat operator was experienced, according to the police report.
