What happened on Tuesday followingnoon in the small town of Trois-Ponts? A tragedy, without a doubt. However, it will be up to the Verviers judicial authorities to shed light on the facts and explain to the family and loved ones the circumstances of the tragedy which resulted in the death of two people, both aged 51.
Tuesday around 5:30 p.m., a man called the police to tell them that a woman had died in her house in Trois-Ponts. The man, who spoke French relatively poorly, did not give his identity and quickly hung up. Upon their arrival, the police actually discovered the lifeless body of a fifty-year-old woman. The unfortunate woman had received several stab wounds. The house was locked from the inside. No traces of search or theft were noted, nor were there any signs of break-in or struggle.

But the police were not at the end of their sentence. They indeed discovered the lifeless body of the lady’s husband. The man was hanged.
The alert was immediately raised and the judicial system got underway. So, in the evening, the investigating judge Ms. Absolone came to the scene. A forensic doctor has also been commissioned, as have the scientific police.
At this stage, without additional findings, the case was placed under investigation on the basis of a double homicide. Several hypotheses are in fact in order, that of double homicide, that of murder followed by suicide or even that of double suicide. To try to answer the countless questions, the two bodies will be autopsied this Wednesday or even Thursday. The telephone will be examined to try to establish whether the telephone call to the police was the work of the husband or not. Relatives of the deceased will also be heard.
The couple was well known in their neighborhood and were, however, completely unknown to the justice services.
