“Monday followingnoon, around 4:20 p.m., the police received a report from a man declaring that he had been contacted by his former employer,” said Julie Plevoets, spokesperson for the Leuven prosecutor’s office. “The latter allegedly claimed to have done something to his wife and children.”
The police teams then went to the small building located on the Oude Markt, where they discovered the lifeless bodies of a woman and a child. A baby was also in the building. He was injured, but is now out of danger.
“The federal police laboratory descended on the scene, accompanied by a forensic doctor”, continues the spokesperson for the prosecution. “The local Leuven police and the federal judicial police are also on site.
