The singer and only daughter of Elvis Presley, who disappeared on January 12, died following complications related to an intestinal obstruction, according to the medical examiner’s report. Therapeutic opioids have also been found.
More than six months following the death of Lisa Marie Presley, at the age of 54, the causes of her death were revealed yesterday, Thursday July 13. The King’s only daughter has died from complications related to an intestinal obstruction, several American media reported. According to the medical examiner’s report, adhesions developed in his small intestine following bariatric surgery – an operation that changes the anatomy of the digestive system – years ago, reports TMZ in particular.
The presence of opioids detected but not linked to his death
The toxicological report also revealed the presence of two opioids, underlines the American media. The latter – oxycodone and buprenorphine – have been raised to ‘therapeutic’ levels. Traces of an antipsychotic – quetiapine – were also found.
But these substances were not the cause of the death of Lisa Marie Presley, notes the report. These drugs would have been prescribed to him following a cosmetic procedure a few months before the death of the singer, known to have fought in the past an addiction to opioids.
Before her death, the fifty-year-old had also been compelled to a drastic diet accompanied by drug treatment in order to lose weight, to attend the Golden Globes ceremony, had also revealed in January TMZ.
