30-year-old Frenchman Remi Lucidi fell from a 68-story building in Hong Kong.
He was probably there to take photos for Instagram.
Shortly before his death, he desperately knocked on the window of the penthouse apartment on the roof of the building.
Daring maneuvers for the best shot, with which you can then get as many likes as possible on social media? This is nothing new, and it has often brought people into life-threatening situations, sometimes even deadly ended. So also recently in Hongkongwhen 30-year-old Frenchman Remi Lucidi, known on Instagram as remnigma, fell from one of the Tregunter Towers.
Lucidi fell 68 floors to his death, according to information from the “Daily Mail” he was not on the highest of the three towers, but fell from one of the lower towers, which is “only” 219 meters high. How he even got access to it and how the fall came about can only be reconstructed afterwards on the basis of witness statements. Lucidi is said to have told a security guard who controls access to the apartment building that he wanted to visit a friend on the 40th floor. Even if this turned out to be a lie, the Frenchman managed to get inside the building.
He knocked on the penthouse window
The security guards are said to have later found the hatch leading to the roof of the building open. Lucidi apparently entered the roof of the building, from then on the course of the accident is difficult to understand: According to the statements of the maid who was in the penthouse of the tower, the Frenchman knocked desperately on the window of the apartment. Police believe he was trapped outside the penthouse. He then fell 219 meters to his death.
It is likely that he must have tried to take photos of his daring maneuver beforehand. Anyone who scrolls through the 30-year-old’s Instagram profile will see numerous photos in which he is unsecured on the roofs of buildings, or takes pictures of himself on construction cranes with a selfie stick. Hashtags like “escape the matrix” or “illegal freedom” give a rough idea of the Frenchman’s mindset. His last photo: the Hong Kong skyline.
