A cyclist died Friday morning in Aalst following an accident with a truck, reports the East Flanders public prosecutor’s office. The victim was 81 years old.
The accident occurred around 11:00 a.m. According to the traffic expert’s initial findings, the cyclist had the right of way and was hit by an inattentive truck driver.
The driver of the truck, a 28-year-old man from Zottegem, tested negative for drugs and alcohol, but the public prosecutor’s office revoked his driving license for 15 days.
