Tragic Crash Claims Lives of Five Young Women En Route to Wedding Preparations

Five young Minnesota women returning from the mall for some finishing touches for a cousin’s wedding the next day were struck to death Friday by a driver traveling more than 60 km/h over the limit.

“They were just getting ready for their loved one’s wedding,” Khalid Omar, of the Islamic Center Dar Al-Farooq, which the victims attended, told the Star Tribune on Saturday. They were pearls of our community. They leave a big void. All five had bright futures ahead of them.”
