A dramatic accident took place on Saturday evening in Waarschoot, in East Flanders. Two cars collided following the first vehicle veered off course. The impact was very brutal, and cost the lives of two people: a 21-year-old young woman, who was in the first car, and a 39-year-old man, a passenger in the second. Two other people, including the boyfriend of the young woman who died, are still in danger of death this Sunday. The two other occupants of the second vehicle were injured but are now out of danger, according to the prosecution.
The newspapaer reports that one of the firefighters on duty called to the scene of the tragedy was the father of the 21-year-old victim. Arriving there, he noticed that the young woman killed instantly was his daughter. The victim’s best friend, Jolien, also passed near the scene of the accident just following the tragedy, and told our Flemish colleagues that she had sent a message to her friend just followingward. “I told her: ‘Your dad is definitely going to be called for a serious accident,’ and a few hours later I learned that she was involved in the accident and had not survived,” explained to the Nieuwsblad, in tears.
