Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives of Michaël, Géraldine, and Lily-Rose: Latest Updates and Details

2023-09-24 13:40:00

It was not yet midnight on the night of Saturday to Sunday when Michaël and Géraldine, accompanied by their two little daughters, were driving along rue de la Verrerie in Rance, on the national road 53 which links Beaumont to Chimay. For a reason still unknown, the vehicle deviated from its trajectory, hit a pole very violently, swerved and rolled at least once, before finally ending up on its roof in the ditch.

Several motorists informed emergency services of the seriousness of the incident, and also reported that a person had been ejected.

Three people ejected

Arriving on site, paramedics, emergency workers and firefighters first found a young child trapped under the car and a man ejected not far away. Quickly, in-depth research revealed a second body, that of a lady, but also that of a very young child. These are the parents, Michaël and Géraldine, but also their little Lily-Rose, barely 2 years old. Despite all the efforts made, it was necessary to face the horrible facts: all three succumbed to their very serious and significant injuries.

Stuck under the car

Stuck under the car, the couple’s first daughter, Mya, aged 6, was still trapped in the twisted metal sheets. After the extrication, Mya will be transported in a condition considered very worrying by the rescuers.

The mayor of Sivry-Rance, Jean-François Gatelier, like the Charleroi Public Prosecutor’s Office, confirms this information and specifies that the causes of this loss of control are still unknown.

According to our colleagues from Sudpresse, Géraldine Moreau and Michaël Georges had lived in Rance for several years, but were originally from Beaumont.
