Muscat: Three people died in Buraimi, Oman following being trapped in a mudslide due to rain. The accident occurred when the plaintiff was trying to cross the river with his vehicle.
Four people were rescued from the vehicle with the help of locals on Saturday evening. The Civil Defense and Ambulance Department informed that while the search for the three persons was continuing, they were found dead in the nearby areas on Sunday morning.
Summer rains continue in different parts of Oman today. Officials have advised not to cross the wadi during rainy season and when the wadi is overflowing. This is an offense punishable by a fine and imprisonment of up to three months. Civil Defense and Ambulance have also requested to follow the security instructions of the authorities.
