Three members of the Jalisco Attorney General’s Office and the Tlajomulco police have died this Tuesday, July 11, after an attack with explosive devices.

According to the state governor, Enrique Alfaro, 10 more members of said bodies were injured. ‘This is an unprecedented event that shows what these organized crime groups are capable of. This attack also represents a challenge against the Mexican State as a whole,’ he wrote via Twitter.

Likewise, he also pointed out that the Jalisco Security Cabinet is in permanent session.

The aggression of the alleged car bomb is attributed to assets of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, (CJNG), who attacked officers who were attending a report of the discovery of human remains.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Luis Joaquín Méndez Ruíz issued instructions directly to ministerial police personnel through radio frequency, and mobilized personnel from different areas of his office, even though it was not their responsibility to act.

Tlajomulco (located in the center of Jalisco) is a region overwhelmed by the violence of the CJNG. Last month, the entity’s Seeking Mothers collective found at least 32 bodies in a local property.

The attack occurs in the midst of the visit of the state president to the National Palace in Mexico City.
