Micaela Papiermeister, 23 years old, and Yamil Lucas Figallo, 30, are the only survivors of the accident in Playa del Carmen in which five Argentines and a Mexican died. In the last few hours, some details of the health status of both young people were known.
From a room at the La Joya Playa del Carmen hospital, Figallo He posted a message on his Instagram account with the details regarding its evolution and a shocking testimony. The survivor thanked the messages of support received during the day and declared that he “can’t find words” to describe what happened.

“I want to thank you all for the messages. The help and support they are giving me”wrote Lucas Figallo in a story recently published on his Instagram account.
Regarding his health, the young man reported that he has suffered a series of fractures: “There are 3 on each side: 3 vertebrae of the spine, 2 lumbar and 1 thoracic”.
“We continue doing analyzes and studies because there are other things that are not going well, as soon as I know I will tell you regarding them. I just ask that you continue to encourage me as always. If you do not abandon me, I promise that I will not abandon you,” said the survivor.
“Lastly and most importantly, I cannot find words to describe what I have had to experience.. From my place I want to give my deepest condolences to the family of all the people who lost their lives in the accident. The family of all the boys and the family of the van driver. May the universe have you all in glory,” Figallo posted.
The episode took place on Sunday, February 18 around 1:00 p.m. (local time) in front of the Palladium Hotel, on the route that is part of the Riviera Maya-Cancún tourist corridor, when A van transporting the Argentines collided head-on with a passenger vehicle.
The young woman suffered several fractures and underwent surgery so she is in delicate condition, while Yamil is stable in the hospital. This information was released hours following the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo communicated the identities of those involved in the incident.
