The victim was identified as Morena Flores, 15, who died this Friday morning following suffering a domestic accident at the home of a colleague, in the city of Gualeguaychú.
The teenager was participating in a meeting with her classmates at the house of one of them where she had an accident with a balcony door. The glass on her shattered and she severed an artery, causing a deep cut to her abdomen. She required a surgical intervention but her bleeding was very important for which she required more than 30 blood and platelet transfusions.
After 9 in the morning, the death was confirmed at the Centennial Hospital and the school authorities communicated the situation to the students and very painful moments were experienced in the hall of the Dr. José María Bértora school, where Flores attended.
Given the unfortunate fact, all educational activity in the institution was suspended. While part of the companions met at the Centennial Hospital to accompany the family.
The investigation into the death is in charge of the prosecutor Natalia Bartolo, and according to the information, no crime was found in the accident.
The event occurred inside a barbecue area of a house in the western part of the city, on Thursday night, during a meeting of students who were preparing activities for Youth Week and the Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled out the existence of a crime.
In dialogue with Reporte 2820, Prosecutor Bartolo specified that “it was a domestic accident, there is no crime.”
He also explained that the Centennial Hospital alerted the Departmental Police Headquarters for the admission of the injured young woman. “The Police went to the place and interviewed both adults and adolescents and everything indicates that it was an unfortunate accident.”
On the other hand, from the Gualeguaychú Mutual Refrigerator Association they confirmed that the remains of the teenager Morena Abigail Flores will be veiled in Room 4 of Montevideo 132 and that her remains will be deposited at 5:30 p.m. in the Gualeguaychú Private Crematorium.
