Tragedy struck a Puerto Rican family from Naranjito on Saturday, when in the middle of a vacation, a couple died and their daughter was injured in a traffic accident while traveling from Georgia to North Carolina.
According to what Telenoticias learned, Delfin Nieves Rodríguez and Lidia Maribel Alicea Carmona, who were the fatalities, were on their way to visit their military son and granddaughters when a vehicle passed a stop and hit them.
Alicea Carmona died at the scene, although they tried to revive her, and her husband died following being transported by air ambulance to a hospital. Her daughter is still receiving medical attention.
Nieves Rodríguez was retired from the Electric Power Authority (AEE) and was a pastor, along with his brother, of the “Palabras de fe” church in Naranjito.
