A fatal accident occurred last night at the Marquain interchange. Firefighter Lieutenant Patrick Ratte informs us that his team was contacted around 1:30 a.m. The operation ended around 7:30 a.m.
The accident left no survivors. Five people died, two adults and three teenagers, according to the mayor of Tournai, Paul-Olivier Delannois. “For an unknown reason, the driver lost control of his vehicle before it caught fire,” said the mayor on his Facebook page, offering his condolences to the family.
