Tragedy Strikes Ryan White

Former Montreal Canadiens player Ryan White is going through very difficult times right now, as his three-and-a-half-year-old son has been diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumour.

This was indicated in a crowdfunding page launched by a friend of the hockey player and his wife Sarah.

“This is an aggressive form of brain cancer, most commonly found in children between the ages of seven and ten. It has a survival rate of 0%”, is it written on the “gofundme” platform.

“Gordie is not only a light in the lives of his parents, his sister Molly and her family, but he leaves a significant impact on everyone he meets. He is a happy, loving, comical, witty and charming little boy.”

White was a third-round pick for the Canadiens (66th overall) in the 2006 draft. He played 141 games in a CH uniform, scoring five goals and 12 assists for 17 points. He also played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota Wild and Arizona Coyotes. In his career in the National League, he had 61 points in 313 games.

White played his final pro season in 2020-21, playing for the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL.
