Several people were killed in a shooting at the Dollar General store in Jacksonville, Florida, Mayor Deagan told local WJXT television.
Donna Deegan said “some people died” at the store, but did not provide exact figures, calling the incident “unacceptable,” the Associated Press reported.
City Councilman Ju’Coby Pittman (Ju’Coby Pittman) told WJXT television that the shooter had died.
The area where the incident occurred was near Edward Waters University (Edward Waters University), and several police officers gathered at the scene.
The school said students were being kept in the residence halls and that no students or staff were believed to be involved in the incident.
