A tragedy occurred this Monday, shortly before 10 a.m., in Landelies, in a remote home located on rue de l’Espinette. The lifeless bodies of a couple in their seventies, Claude and Jeanne, were discovered by the nurse who came to treat them regularly.

Very quickly, the causes of death revealed their painfully accidental nature. A fire broke out in the home… Thick smoke emerged and invaded the ground floor where the couple was. And the flames were reignited when the front door was opened by the emergency services, causing a draft of air. Nothing more might be done for Jeanne and her husband Claude.
