Hundreds of people were killed when a rocket hit the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday evening. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is under the control of the Islamist Hamas, at least 500 people were killed. The ministry said it expected the number of victims to rise. Previously, thousands of civilians had apparently sought shelter in and around the hospital to protect themselves from Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip.
