The adverse weather conditions in the Aegean, with waves over two meters, caused a tragedy off Karpathos, with one athlete losing her life in the Aegean 600 international sailing race, which takes place every year in our country.
According to the Port Authorities of Kasos, there were two rescue incidents on Monday night (07/08) and during the Aegean 600, with the first accident resulting in the death of a 40-year-old athlete.

Later, however, there was a new incident, with the injury of a 61-year-old aboard a Polish-flagged sailboat. The sailboat sailed safely to the port of Pigadion in Karpathos and the 61-year-old disembarked and was taken to G.N. by an EKAV ambulance. Karpathos.
