Hurlingham: three children died in a house fire

The kitchen of the house, being built mainly of wood, caught fire for reasons still unknown and generated a column of smoke that made it difficult to leave the home. Mary, the 44-year-old caretaker – she was in charge of four of the children and her 8-year-old daughter-slept with the 1-year-old twins, when the 4-year-old boy went up to her flat to inform her of the fire.

As a result of the accident, the babies and the child who notified the woman died while a sister of them, 2 years old, managed to save herself and was transferred to the San Bernardino municipal hospital, as well as the nanny and her 8-year-old daughter who was also in the house. Due to the severity of the wounds, one of the minors was later transferred to the Alejandro Posadas National Hospital, in the town of Haedo. Morón’s Judicial Department is still investigating the case, awaiting expert reports.

In dialogue with LN+ Juan, the son-in-law of the mother of the four children, said that while the caretaker was upstairs, the 4-year-old boy went up and said ” look aunt, there’s fire, fire!”. The woman when she came down saw that the kitchen, which is composed of a cupboard, floor and wooden armchairs was completely on fire.

At that moment, she tried to get the children out, while from the outside, two men sought to help them: “A neighbor came with a ladder, then a mason arrived, a big boy from here on the way back from a work with a bar to try to open but he might not, it was impossible, the smoke was here, it was not so easy to go and get to the door, but the guy sent and knocked everything down”.

At that time, according to the relative, she cried out for help “ ” Help me, help me!”. While they waited for the firemen, a delivery stopped several cars to ask for the fire extinguisher.

The mason eventually managed to enter and rescue the woman and the two children, and then he tried CPR on all three of them, since at that time the woman began to convulse. “Then the firefighters fell and took out the child of four, Kevin, who unfortunately died,” he added.

Tragedy in Hurlingham: a house was set on fire and three children were killed inside

As seen in LN+, the entrance to the home is on a second floor which can be accessed through a metal staircase, where upon entering you can see the kitchen that has white walls stained by soot with parquet floor, with several skipped woods.

In that room there are glasses obscured by smoke in a piece of furniture that is held despite being surrounded by flames, a wooden table, a chest of drawers, a completely gray refrigerator with sprung edges and a melted TV. On the floor there are also parts of children’s toys.

In the dining room that is adjacent, as seen in the images, there is still the structure of part of the pantry and the table, although they are completely black. A few steps from there is the room where the children slept, which consists of three mattresses, one double and two single, a bedside table that has above a bottle and a padding.

Apparently in LN+, this room does not seem to have been hit by the flames, however the walls have samples of soot from the smoke that came from the kitchen and occupied the air of the room at the time of the fire.
