Traffic Chaos on Brussels Ring: Accidents Cause Massive Traffic Jam and Delays near Wemmel

2023-07-06 06:06:00

Bad luck for motorists using the Brussels Ring in the Wemmel area this Thursday morning. Between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., two accidents took place near kilometer marker 44, in outside traffic (in the direction of Hal, therefore). Two traffic lanes had to be closed. Logical consequences at the start of the day: despite the Dutch-speaking school holidays, there were 10 kilometers of queues around 8 a.m. (they went up to Machelen approximately).

Note: in the other direction, queues of curious people formed, it is assumed, causing queues that went up to around Anderlecht. The Flemish traffic center advised this Thursday morning, on his sitea diversion route: take the Brussels Ring in internal traffic to reach Grand-Bigard whether you are coming from Machelen or Woluwe-Saint-Etienne.
