Around 4:15 p.m. this Saturday, the Brussels firefighters intervened for a traffic accident in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, avenue du Hunderenveld. A car with an English registration rammed into a school bus parked on the side of the road. The reasons for the accident are still unknown according to Walter Derieuw, spokesman for the Brussels Siamu (Fire Service and Urgent Medical Aid). “The driver was trapped in his vehicle and was extricated by us. He was transferred, in a rather worrying state, to the hospital,” continues the spokesperson
A side airbag did not deploy, which made it difficult for the firefighters to intervene. “To avoid untimely tripping, one of the first actions to take is to disconnect the batteries of the cars involved to guarantee the safety of the personnel involved.”
