Agael Hernández Islas, medicine woman and program workshop leader, commented that 100 traditional doctors from the municipalities of San Bartolo, Huehuetla and Acaxochitlán will participate, who will meet at the Acaxochitlán municipal auditorium starting at 10 in the morning, where there will also be sales of natural products .
Juan Vargas Martínez, traditional doctor and coordinator of the project, mentioned that with this type of event it is intended to make the population aware of the treatment of diseases through herbs, massages and temazcales, since sometimes they get confused with witches because of the clothes they wear or they are scammed as charlatans.
Arturo Castelán Zacatenco, Secretary of Tourism of the municipality of Acaxochitlán, spoke of the importance of recognizing and respecting traditional medicine as a living traditional expression; He also stressed that traditional medicine is not a topic specific to Acaxochitlán, since it is carried out in other municipalities.
He added that the day of traditional medicine is November 20 and that it seeks to transmit traditional knowledge from generation to generation.
