Traditional Crêpe Maker Test: Lagrange thinks of everything

Before making our crepes, we evaluated the cooking performance of the Crêpière Tradi’. First, the device reaches 200°C in 3 min 20 s. Then, thanks to two probes placed on the hottest and coldest points of the plate, we noted the variations in temperature of the crepe maker when it was set at around 210°C. We then observe between 30 and 40°C difference depending on the location.

The heating indicator also gives indications on the instants of heating and pause of the resistance: it actually lights up in red when the resistance rises in temperature. We observe that the pause times are short, much more than for other models present in our comparison. The cooking plate then maintains sufficient heat to obtain identical cooking over the pancakes.

Using a thermal camera this time, we analyze the heating homogeneity of the plate. La Crêpière Tradi’ reaches 188.5°C at its coldest point and 225.4°C at its hottest point. While these temperature differences may seem significant, they should be put into perspective. Other models such as theEssential B ECPM3 and the Krampouz Diabolo, although efficient, record higher temperature differences; they can reach 40°C or even 50°C.

These results should also be put into perspective with the actual cooking of pancakes. However, the Lagrange Crêpière Tradi has clearly distinguished itself in this essential exercise! The device cooked the pancakes evenly and identically throughout the session without drying them out.
