Investors face shortened trading days ahead of holidays, U.S. 10-Year Treasury Bond YieldIt fell slightly on Friday (22nd).

6:30 ET, indicator 10-Year Treasury Bond YieldAfter rising slightly on Thursday (21st), it fell 3.3 basis points to 3.861%.

The 30-year Treasury yield fell 3.1 basis points to 4.004%. The 2-year Treasury yield fell 2.2 basis points to 4.327%. Yield is inversely proportional to price.

There wasn’t much data released in Friday’s shortened trading day, mainly new home sales and the core consumer price expenditures price index.

Rising government debt has pushed yields above many thresholds this year as falling inflation increases the likelihood of future rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. Investors are now looking ahead, assessing whether the rebound can last into 2024.

As expectations continue to rise that the Federal Reserve will begin cutting interest rates as soon as March, the U.S. economy has 10-Year Treasury Bond Yieldhas dropped by nearly 1 percentage point.
