Trade relations with Canada and presence of Paraguayan meat are consolidated during the “Beef from Paraguay”

Asunción, IP Agency.- More than 100 meat importers, distributors and marketers gathered yesterday at the “Beef from Paraguay” in Ottawa, an exclusive tasting event organized to strengthen commercial relations and consolidate the presence of Paraguayan meat in the demanding Canadian market. .

It was organized by the Embassy of Paraguay in Canada, with the support of the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX) and the Paraguayan Meat Chamber (CPC) and marks an important milestone in the international promotion of Paraguayan beef in Canada.

Attendees were able to experience first-hand the exceptional quality of Paraguayan meat, thanks to the premium cuts provided by the Concepción and Minerva Foods meatpackers.

On the occasion, Paraguay’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in livestock production was highlighted.

With a sector that employs 17% of the economically active population and contributes 11% of the national GDP, livestock farming is a fundamental pillar of the Paraguayan economy. Our country not only produces high-quality meat, but also leads sustainable practices that protect natural resources and improve animal welfare.

Likewise, Paraguay managed to position itself as a key player in the export of high-quality meat, meeting strict international standards in food safety and environmental sustainability, a fact that is evidenced by the recent authorization of the Canadian market, after a thorough audit process of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

Exports to the Canadian market generated record income

The MIC highlights that with the opening of the Canadian market for Paraguayan meat in May, Paraguay exported 1,292,945 kilos of beef, generating income of US$ 5,819,021 until August 31, a record for the month.

The volume of exports grew significantly in August, with 1,140,087 kilos exported, compared to 152,857 kilos in July, highlighting the strong initial momentum in the Canadian market.

This success in Canada positioned the country as the number 18 destination on the list of Paraguayan meat export markets, surpassing nations such as Egypt, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The monthly average of exports to Canada was established at 430,098 kilos, which underlines the growth potential in this market.

Despite being a recent entry, the prospects for Paraguayan beef in Canada are highly optimistic. With a combination of superior quality and competitive prices, Paraguayan exports are expected to continue growing, consolidating its position in one of the most demanding markets in the world.

The “Beef from Paraguay” event concluded successfully, leaving a positive impression among attendees, who showed a clear interest in establishing long-term business relationships, reports the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
