When we think of Fribourg’s public transport, there is first the Epinal image of the bus which takes hikers to the Black Lake or the new Chocolat Express directly linking Berne to the Broc-Chocolaterie stop. But TPF is also a company in full expansion which has just broken its attendance record with 37.5 million people transported last year (a jump of +8.9% compared to 2022). The company wants to take advantage of this context to give a big boost to its transition towards more sustainable mobility. In order to provide itself with the means, it asked the canton (75% majority shareholder) for a recapitalization operation worth 60 million francs. Subject to the obligatory financial referendum, the project is on the menu of the Friborg population during the voting day of March 3.
