Toyota Motor produced over the past financial year (ended at the company on March 31) more than 9.1 million vehicles, which is a record result for the corporation. Car sales for the reporting period amounted to 10.6 million, of which 8.5 million were sold outside of Japan, which is also a record. Another achievement was the release of cars in March: in one month, the company produced more than 1 million cars.

Good growth in demand in Asia, as well as some easing of problems with the supply of microprocessors and the lifting of severe restrictions due to COVID-19, allowed the company to reach such indicators. However, Toyota Motor warns in its report that it continues to feel the long-term effects of the microprocessor shortage caused by the pandemic. The company did not publish forecasts for the current financial year, explaining that “the situation remains difficult.”

As evidenced by the reporting, the largest market for Toyota in the completed financial year is Asia, where 3.3 million vehicles were sold. Among Asian countries, China remains the largest buyer of cars of the Japanese company – 1.9 million. The second largest market is North America, 2.4 million were sold there, of which 2 million were in the United States. In third place is the market of Japan itself (1.4 million cars). Europeans bought 1.04 million cars during the year (an increase of 2.1%). At the same time, sales in Russia fell by 97.2% over the year, 3,105 cars manufactured by the Japanese corporation were sold.
