Toyota Prius: new generation that promises to do 200 km / l can be launched in Brazil

A fifth generation of the Toyota Prius hybrid car may be launched in Brazil soon. The Japanese automaker’s model has already been registered in our country and had its industrial designs and patents cataloged in the National Institute of Industrial Property (Inpi).

Speculation points out that the plug-in hybrid version of the new Prius to arrive this way in 2024. However, the automaker has not commented on this and there is still no official date for the return of the car. to the Brazilian marketwhich went out of line in the country in 2021.

It is worth noting that 5th generation Toyota Prius is currently one of the most efficient vehicles on the global market, as pointed out by the European Union. The Japanese automaker’s hybrid promises to do 200 km per liter of gasoline, in the plug-in version.

This Toyota Prius model is equipped with an engine 2.0 petrol engine with 152 horsepower and an electric propeller at the back with 163 horsepower. The set generates 223 horsepower and makes the vehicle go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with all-wheel drive.

By keeping the Prius in 100 km/h, an average of half a liter of gasoline is spent, according to official data. Regarding CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions, they are 11 grams per km traveled and consumption in electric mode varies between 11.4 and 12.6 kWh per 100 km.

The battery has lithium-ion cells and its capacity increased from 8.8 kWh to 13.6 kWh. That is, the range of the 100% electric mode was 50% greater, with autonomy increasing from 63 km to 95 km. The combined range reaches 1,250 km.
