Toyota continues to remain silent on the project of a new crossover, which should be the most expensive in the Japanese automaker’s lineup. According to rumors, such a car will be called the Century SUV. Local media believed that the debut of the new Toyota will take place this year. And on the eve of these conjectures were confirmed.
According to information disclosed by BestCarWeb, an authoritative publication from the Land of the Rising Sun, Toyota’s head office contacted its dealers and advised them to prepare for the start of sales of the brand’s most premium crossover. What such training should consist of is not specified.
From what is known today regarding the Century project, the crossover will receive large dimensions, which will surpass even the Land Cruiser 300.
Its length should be regarding 5200 mm, but despite such dimensions, only 4 seats will be provided in the cabin with two separate seats in the back row.
The unit line of this model, of course, is classified, but insiders write regarding several options for power plants, including the V6 i-Force Max hybrid system, which the Tundra and Sequoia have already received, and the new Prado should soon do this.
Despite the fact that the eponymous Century sedan has always been rear-wheel drive, its crossover version will almost certainly be offered only in all-wheel drive.
As for the estimated price of such an all-terrain vehicle, Japanese journalists give figures from 10 to 15 million yen, which is equivalent to amounts from 6 to 9 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
