Toxic smoke escapes after a major fire

A fire broke out in the Rothenburgsort district of Hamburg on Sunday morning. First, the fire brigade classified the fire as “extremely dangerous” because of the toxic smoke. The situation calmed down in the afternoon, although the fire continues to burn.

According to the fire brigade, a fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. in a warehouse complex in Hamburg-Rothenburgsort.

A fire broke out in a warehouse in the Rothenburgsort district of Hamburg early on Sunday morning and spread quickly. This resulted in a huge cloud of smoke, which was blown towards the city center by the wind. The fire brigade initially warned residents of the toxic smoke. In the afternoon, the cloud of smoke had largely dissipated and the fire brigade lowered the warning level. According to initial findings, no one was injured.
