Doppler announced the sale at the beginning of July 2023, and the transaction became effective at the beginning of the year, as Doppler confirmed in a press release today, Monday.
The takeover will mean 267 Turmöl gas stations in Poland, and Orlen will expand the network to around 3,500 gas stations in seven European countries (Austria, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania).
The goal of Orlen’s new Austrian managing director, Piotr Guzial: “Further growth in Austria.” Guzial has been with Orlen, a company that spans energy to publishing, and has seen strong recent growth, for nearly five years. “We will continue to position ourselves as a discount brand and further strengthen our market position,” said Guzial.
They are examining further acquisition opportunities in the region and are taking steps to establish themselves as a leading player in the field of electromobility on the Austrian market.
