A new bill, following the first submission to the National Assembly by the deputy Jerome Nury (LesRépublicains, Orne), of a project to create normal schools of health, now aims, according to the deputy of Aisne Jean Louis Bricout (Freedoms, independents, overseas and territories) to launch their experiment in ten voluntary departments of mainland France, Corsica and Overseas, characterized by difficulties in accessing care.
The Normal Schools for health professions aim to constitute a reference in our territories for a new school environment conducive to young people wishing to engage in taking charge of the health of our fellow citizens. They take the form of specialized high schools and provide specific education for health professions while offering periods of immersion in the professional environment.
On the basis of the former Normal Schools, whose Ferry laws trained several generations of teachers, the Normal Schools for health professions will ensure the role of social elevator in the face of the reluctance generated by the length and cost of medical studies. They would offer studies freeand internship of excellence and a life scholarship. In return, once he has become a healthcare professional, the student would undertake to practice on medically under-endowed territories for a period of ten years.
