Arts Council Karachi A special event was held in honor of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, where she spoke openly about her personal and showbiz life and revealed her political affiliation.
The team of Independent Urdu was also part of the event called ‘Ek Shaam Mahira Khan Ke Naam’, hosted by Anwar Maqsood.
In this evening full of gossip and humour, the host Anwar Maqsood shed light on Mahira Khan’s personal life to her showbiz career.
The hall echoed with the applause of the participants on the interesting questions of Anwar Maqsood and the excellent answers of Mahira Khan.
During the conversation, Mahira Khan said that ‘I wanted to become an actress since childhood, but my grandmother objected to it.’
Anwar Maqsood directed his film ‘The Legend of Mola JuttCommenting on ‘Mola Jat’, he said in a humorous manner that ‘I saw Mola Jat three times but I didn’t understand it, now I have to watch it for the fourth time. By the way, where was the Punjabi culture in it?’ You looked like a Lucknowi actress in your dress.’
Regarding The Legend of Mola Jutt’ Mahira Khan said that ‘I tried hard to speak good Punjabi.’

On this occasion, the President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi also presented the Cultural Ambassador of Pakistan Award to Mahira Khan on behalf of the Council.
