Towards a two-lane Montgomery roundabout: here is the Region’s “draft” for the redevelopment of Avenue de Tervueren

The Brussels Region has set up a “preliminary project” to redevelop Avenue de Tervueren and has just started consultations with the municipalities concerned. The reactions are already flowing.

The respite was short-lived on Avenue de Tervueren. At the beginning of November, the “cycle path fight” broke out: Etterbeek, tired of waiting and opposed to the Region’s “two-way” cycle path project, created “one-way” cycle paths on either side of the avenue. A passage in force which has (re) launched a standoff between municipality and region.

A few months later, in March, the Montgomery roundabout underwent a “temporary” facelift: Brussels-Mobility removed the fourth lane of the titanic roundabout and made bicycle facilities (a track in the roundabout, and an outer ring that can be walked in both directions).
