Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa. It is the tallest and widest waterfall in the world. This waterfall is considered as one of the great wonders of nature. The waterfall was named Victoria by David Livingston, a Scottish missionary and traveler who first discovered the falls. This naming was a tribute to the British Queen.

Victoria Falls is a 1708 meter wide waterfall. The water falls from twice as high as Niagara. Apart from viewing the falls, there are many tourists who come to enjoy swimming in the Devil’s Pool at the Victoria Falls and sitting on the Devil’s Armchair at the edge of the pool. Many adventure activities are also arranged here, including bungee jumping. Victoria Falls is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Africa. Most tourists come here through Zambia.

From November to April the water level will be higher. The rest of the time the amount of water will be low. The falls are best seen when the water is low.
