From 2023, a residence tax will appear in Turkey, which will lead to an increase in the cost of tours to this country. Artur Muradyan, General Director of the Space Travel tour operator, spoke regarding this.

“In the original, the document is called “Residential Tax”, that is, for all objects in Turkey, including hotels, private houses, and so on. In the same Arab countries, a tax on accommodation is levied, even for the star category of the hotel, that is, the higher, the more. Let’s call it, in fact, an analogue of the resort fee, but it is important that it will be charged on any rental housing, ”said Muradyan in an interview with NEWS.RU.

According to the expert, the cost of vouchers will increase similarly to the new tax, which, at the moment, they plan to make at a rate of 2%. Muradyan explained that for Russians who fly to Turkey on an all-inclusive basis, the tax will be included in the cost of the tour.

Earlier, tour operators reported that this season tours to Turkey have become 30% more expensive comparing with the previous year. In September, the largest Turkish banks stopped working with the Russian payment system “Mir”.
