Tourist receipts at 8.2 billion dirhams at the end of January

The Department of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF) indicated that tourist receipts appreciated at the end of January 2023, by 39% compared to their level before the crisis (2019), to reach for the first time, during a January, more than 8.2 billion dirhams (MMDH).

In its recent note on the economy, the DEPF d notes that year-on-year, these receipts firmed up by 628.4%, instead of a drop of 56% a year earlier.

And to note that a framework agreement for the deployment of the strategic roadmap for tourism 2023-2026 was signed during the month of March.

This roadmap, with a budget of 6.1 billion dirhams, aims, by 2026, to attract 17.5 million tourists, to reach 120 billion in foreign exchange earnings, to create 80,000 direct jobs. and 120,000 indirect, in addition to repositioning tourism as a key sector in the national economy.
