Tourism revenues in Türkiye jump 32% in the first quarter | Economy

Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed – today, Friday – that tourism revenues rose 32.3% to $8.7 billion in the first quarter, maintaining the strong trend that it returned to last year despite the devastating earthquakes that struck the south of the country last February.

And in 2022, revenues increased by 53.4% ​​compared to the previous year, to a record level of $ 46.28 billion, with the receding of the Corona pandemic.

According to the data, 20% of tourism revenues came from Turkish citizens residing outside the country.

In a related context, data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism showed that 6,212,109 foreign tourists visited the country during the aforementioned period, an increase of 26.71%.

One million 559 thousand and 314 citizens of Turkish communities abroad visited Turkey, according to the same data.
